Do I Need a Visa/What is the ETIAS?
Citizens of the United States with a valid US passport can travel to 26 European member countries of the Schengen Area for a maximum of 90 days without having to apply or obtain a Schengen visa for short-term tourism or a business trip.

However, this changes when it comes to US residents of another nationality. Non-Americans residing in the US, that wish to visit Europe, may need or not need a visa, depending on their nationality.
  • US residents coming from countries that have established visa-free regime with the EU do not need to obtain a visa to enter Europe.
  • On the other hand, US residents coming from countries that have not established a visa-free regime with the EU will have to apply for a Schengen visa in the US, in order to be able to enter any of the EU countries.
NOTE: (Starting January 1, 2022, US citizens will have to apply for an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) prior to their travel towards Europe, in order to be allowed to enter the territory.) Cost is €7.
What room choices are available for adults on tour?
Generally, kids room with kids and adults with adults (which we prefer) or adults can have a room by themselves. Sometimes, however, a student will room with a parent if both feel strongly about it. Assuming you will have a roommate who is not your spouse (either adult or your child), you will want twin beds. Rooms are 2/room in twin beds, but sometimes double beds are available for couples going on tour, so couples can request a double bed; however, there is no guarantee you will get one. We will ask for roommate preferences later; couples are automatic roommates. If you want a room by yourself, you can choose a single at an extra cost of $526.
What room choices are available for students on tour?
Rooms are 2/room in twin beds. Assuming your student will be rooming with another student, we will ask for 3 choices for roommates, in order of preference, in December or January. We match up kids according to their preferences as much as possible.
Can we make our own air arrangements?
Land-Only is a choice for non-students only. The cost of the Land-Only Tour will vary from $2,772, based on 40-44/bus full-tour participants. Those who make their own air arrangements will be responsibile for transportation to join the group unless they are on the same flight as the group - or arrive on an earlier flight, in which case they can travel on the motorcoach meeting us at the airport. They are also responsible for transportation to the airport at departure if they want to go to the airport at a different time than the group goes.
What does being a chaperone involve?
See Chaperone Responsibilities . Generally, each chaperone is responsible for about 4 kids – just to keep track of them and make sure they know what is happening each day and are having a good time – kind of like their mom/dad-away-from-home. You don’t have to be with them all the time. Chaperones pay full price.
