We opened Hound Dog Rock Shop in Clarence on October 15, 2016. Business has been rockin'!
We have rocks & minerals from around the world, over 140 different pocket tumbled stones,
hand crafted stone jewelry, geodes, metaphysical gifts, etc. We are located about
30 miles east of Cedar Rapids right on Hwy. 30. In Clarence, Hwy. 30 is called Lombard Street.

About 35 years I began doing suiseki (Japanese viewing stones). Since that time, I have
gone through several permutations which have resulted in bringing this old tradition into
the 20th-21st century and having a distinctive American flavor. If you would like to see
some samples of earlier work, see my web-site. Sorry that
I have not kept the site up to date. My hometown is Iowa City and I spent my adult life
in Philadelphia. Five years ago I reconnected with a woman that I dated at the U. of Iowa
in the mid-50s; we had not seen each other nor spoken in 52 years. She lives in Davenport;
while I am in Columbus OH, I get back to IA every couple months. I truly wish that I were
there more because your club is far better than is the one in Columbus.

Our signature stone is Dragonskin Quartz. Each piece has been activated with a
unique energetic dragon.

mining sluice, which is fun for kids of all ages! We love to have
